Activities and Recreation Center (ARC)


The job fair provides companies, institutes and government agencies an opportunity to meet science students and researchers at all levels. This is an opportunity for your scientists and personnel representatives to talk with these students, postdocs, and a few alumni about research and development activities, employment and career opportunities, and lifestyles in your location. You will also be able to discuss the student's research interests, background and goals, and identify potential future employees.

    Employer Online Registration - Opens in June 2011



    For current I-Link ACES Users - Register online by using your I-Link ACES Network account.

    1. Login at https://aces-illinois-csm.symplicity.com/employers/
    2. Select "Career Fairs and Events" from the menu across the top.
    3. Select "Register" on the next screen and complete the online form.

    If you do not have an I-Link ACES account, you will need to to register to use I-Link ACES before registering to attend the ACES and Bio-Sciences Career Fair. Your I-Link ACES Network username and password will be emailed after your I-Link ACES account is activated. Upon activation, you will be able to login to register for the Career Fair. Please note: accounts are only activated during regular business hours.

    • 10:30 am Employers may begin setting up displays
    • 11:45 am Lunch
    • 1:00 pm Career fair opens to students

    Important Dates



    • August 1, 2011 - Early bird registration and payment deadline
    • September 22, 2011 - Registration fee due - unpaid reservations may be cancelled.
    • September 22, 2011 - Last day to cancel with refund minus $75 administrative fee.
    • October 3, 2011 - Packages may begin arriving at the ARC.


    Registration Fees



    The standard registration fee includes one career fair booth space (8' wide x 5' deep), electricity, wireless Internet, lunch for up to two recruiters, and parking. An unlimited number of recruiters may attend. You have the opportunity to purchase one additional career fair booth space and additional lunches (if you need more than two) when registering.

    • Business and Industry - FEES Early Bird: $350; Regular: $400; Late: $450
    • Non-profit and Government Agencies -FEES Early Bird: $200; Regular: $250; Late: $300
    • University of Illinois Dept./Unit - Fee waived
    • Additional booth space - $350
    • Additional lunches - $20

    Shipping



    Displays and materials may be shipped directly to the ARC. Materials will only be accepted up to one week before the event. Your packages should arrive no earlier than October 3, 2011.

    All packages must be clearly marked with your organization's name and "ACES and Sciences Career Fair."

    If your representatives will be shipping displays and materials back from the Career Fair at the conclusion of the event, be sure they have an account number for your preferred vendor (UPS, FedEx, DHL). Materials can be picked up by your vendor at the ARC.

    The University of Illinois is easily accessible by using Interstate 74, Interstate 72 or Interstate 57. The I Hotel and Conference center is located on the southwest side of campus.

    Travel by Air



    The University of Illinois is serviced by the University of Illinois Willard Airport (CMI) and two major carriers - American Airlines and Delta.

    CMI is located approximately 5 miles southwest of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus. It offers a variety of ground transportation options including taxi service and onsite car rental available from Avis, Budget, Hertz, and National.

    Other major airports within a 160-mile radius of Champaign-Urbana
    include: Chicago O'Hare (4 hour drive), Chicago Midway (3 1/2 hour drive), Bloomington, IL (45 minute drive), and Indianapolis (2 hour drive).
