Transgenic Mouse Production

• Transgenic Mouse Production – The facility will generate transgenic mouse by microinjection of foreign DNA into the pronuclei of fertilized mouse eggs.

• Gene Targeting – The facility will produce targeted mouse ES cell lines with a targeting construct provided by the investigator.

Knockout Mouse Production

• Knockout Mouse Production – Up to 2 targeted ES cell clones will be microinjected into mouse blastocysts to generate chimeras.

• Embryo Cryopreservation – 8-cell embryos from a mouse line supplied by the investigator will be cryopreserved and stored in liquid nitrogen.

Rederivation

• Mouse line rederivation – Fertilized oocytes from an infected mouse line will be dissected out and implanted into healthy fosters to carry them to term.

Mouse Embryo Recovery

• Mouse Embryo Recovery-frozen mouse embryos will be thawed and surgically transferred to fosters to retrieve mouse lines

Miscellaneous/Consulting Services

• TMF will provide assistance in mouse colony breeding and other related techniques.
  
  $40/hour, minimum one hour charge.

Facility users other than State of Illinois institutions are subject to a 25.3% indirect cost rate for federally funded projects.  For off-campus projects exceeding $5,000 a contract must be negotiated through University of Illinois Grants and Contracts.  For further information contact Dr. Mark A.
